The convertion of driving licences are dealt with by the Department of Road Transport in Cyprus. Specifically these are dealt when the driving licence comes from a country where the driving license is recognized as being equivalent to the Cypriot.
The documents which are required to be presented in order to convert a foreign licence to the Cypriot license are the following:
(i)Completion of the TOM 7B application form (either in English or Greek) which can be found on the website of the Department of Road Transport in Cyprus;
(ii) Two recent passport photographs (40x35);
(iii)Identity Card (the original and a photocopy);
(iv)Passport (original and a photocopy of the first page with the details of the applicant);
(vi)Proof of at least six months of residence (e.g. utility bills) If the person is a student then needs to present certification from the school that he or she is enrolled and a duration of at least six months and
(vii) The foreign license and two photocopies of all pages.
If the foreign license is not in Greek or English then it will need to be translated by the Press and Information Office or the issuing country’s Cyprus embassy.
Once the Applicant collects all of the above, he or she will need to present them in person at the local district Department of Road Transport in order for the appropriate people to review the documents and also to approve the conversion.
